Daily's Newest Addition: The Duduza Lounger Chair

Daily's Newest Addition: The Duduza Lounger Chair

"Wow, wow, wow!" That’s all that was said about the Duduza Lounger.

Daily's latest feature was adored at Decorex, South Africa's premier furniture design exhibition.

We witnessed how this "boujee bean bag" became a “must-have” for our customers. Combining the luxury of a chaise lounge chair with the comfort of a cosy bean bag, the Duduza Lounger is the perfect combination.

Modern Loungers: From Eames To Duduza

Years, and we mean (ancient) YEARS ago, reclining couches were a symbol of wealth across Europe. They were used for dining, socialising, and even some picturesque relaxation.

Remember the iconic image of a man in a white robe baited with a vine of grapes?

The klinē as it was called in Greece and the lectus in Rome were made from wooden frames with woven supports or cushions.

As furniture evolved through the 17th and 18th centuries, the chaise longue (long chair) emerged in Europe, still in the grips of the upper class. The chaise lounge, French for long chair, was upholstered and designed for reclining.

Fun fact: It is actually where the English word "lounge" came from.

However, in more recent times, we have seen a shift toward more casual and accessible forms of lounging furniture, such as poolside and sun loungers, often made from plastic or wood-woven bases with cushions.

One of the most iconic loungers from more recent times is the Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman (1956), designed by Charles and Ray Eames. A laid-back leather chair and matching ottoman introduced ergonomics to lounger design and set the standard for loungers for years to come.

The Duduza Lounger by Daily is designed for patio naps or sundowners with a glass of bubbly. It still embraces the importance of ergonomic comfort in its design.

Lounger, Meet Beanbag

Since their invention in the 60s, beanbags have been filled with polystyrene beads, allowing them to mould to the sitter's body.

Building on the legacy of these iconic bean bags, the Duduza Lounger represents the perfect fusion of a traditional lounger and a beanbag. Imagine sinking into a cloud; soft, enveloping, and incredibly supportive. Romanticise your life in your Duduza Lounger, whether placed on a covered patio by the pool or in a cosy living room corner.

Curl Up and Unwind

...with a good book, your furry friend... perhaps both? This lounger will become your go-to spot after a long, stressful day.

"Just imagine sinking into a cloud..."

Although comfy, the Duduza Lounger is also durable. It is crafted from high-quality fabric to withstand the elements, making it perfect for outdoor use on a covered patio.

While the fabric is tough enough to handle occasional exposure to the sun, it is recommended that it be kept out of direct sunlight for extended periods to keep its vibrant colour intact. Beyond its durability, the Duduza Lounger is incredibly easy to maintain, which is a bonus for fellow busy bees, workaholics, and socialites.
